Start your day with a detox walk in Borjomi – natural cradle of world-famous mineral water of volcanic origins. The centre of Borjomi is small enough to walk. From the well-known park with free mineral water, we can take a cable car up to to plateau, where there’s a ferris wheel.
Afterwards, we will walk around 9th century Rabati castle – mixture of controversial cultures over centuries! Counting around at least 800 years, it was the seat of the House of Akhaltsikhe, dukes of Samtskhe, for several centuries. In 1576 the Ottomans took the city. They built most of the old buildings a tourist can see here. Over time, Russans, Turks and Armenians invaded the fortress, which is worth a visit!
We will continue our way to one of the most important historic attractions – crafted cave town of Vardzia. The old cave-town is surrounded by the wild nature of picturesque villages. The main period of construction was the second half of the twelfth century. The unique monument of Georgian architecture, rock town is one of Georgia’s most intriguing places to visit!
